Our program is available on Sunday mornings during both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM Masses. While there is no fee Early Childhood Faith Formation, registration is necessary. To register for Early Childhood Faith Formation, please call Heather Burke at 866-2577 ext.217. Early childhood classes are for preschool students who are 4 years old by September and kindergarten students. Class size is limited to 15 students at each session and regular attendance is expected. You may only attend the session you are registered for and may not alternate between class times.
This is a co-op program that requires participation from each family. About every six weeks you will be scheduled to assist in the classroom. We do have a catechist to teach the lesson but parents are needed to help out with the activities and meet the requirements for adult supervision. We can't stress enough that our nursery and early childhood programs are co-ops. These programs will only be as successful as the families who participate choose to make them. Teens, parents, grandparents and college students are always needed and welcomed to help out.
Classes are held in the OLC 1st Grade Room. Please note that we will be closed on major holiday weekends.
We use a curriculum called Living the Good News , a curriculum based on the Sunday Readings. Active little ones need simple words and fun activities to hold their attention and help them remember what they learned. These sessions will offer Scripture stories, songs, games, and crafts, as well as time for free play. Families will also enjoy suggestions for continuing exploration at home with the weekly take home newsletter Living the Good News for Families . In addition, parents will receive a quick review of the week's scriptures and a summary of their children's session.
For the safety and security of the children, this opportunity will only be available during both Masses if there are enough volunteers to adequately staff the classrooms. At least two adults must be present in order to keep the classroom open. The parents must meet the requirements for adult supervision, which include:
