While there is no fee for High School Faith Formation, registration is required. Registration forms will only be available at the parent orientation sessions.
WHAM meets on Sunday nights from 6:00PM until 7:45PM at the Kateri Lodge. WHAM is a youth group setting with a curriculum designed to meet the teens where they are. There are games, mixers, socials, teachings, discussions, and times of worship and prayer. There is something for every teen at every level of their faith.
Throughout the year we will be mixing things up by rotating nights on catechesis; social events like an Ultimate Spoons Tournament and a Christmas party; and lastly, issue nights discussing topics like dating and gossip. The catechesis nights will focus on the Person of Christ. Your child will learn how to relate to Jesus through different aspects of the faith like the Trinity, Mary, the Church and discipleship. We hope these teachings will help solidify Jesus as the rock our teen's build their house on (Matthew 7).

We will be meeting on Wednesday evenings at the Kateri Lodge, from 6:15PM until 7:30PM (same time as the second session of Elementary Faith Formation). In addition to studying the Bible, we will also be going deeper into our faith by exploring and diving into the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Wednesday nights are designed to go deeper into our faith.
Retreats are a great time to get away for a weekend and expand your faith and relationship with Christ. Every year we have several retreats that offer lots of variety for the teens.
Pope John Paul II, in a series of talks over six years of his papacy, produced what is called the THEOLOGY OF THE BODY. Catholics and all Christians have been blessed with this understanding of God's plan for human sexuality. Now, in a sequence of small retreats, we offer you something to say Yes to. Openings are limited in number and for grades 10-12. Location: Franciscan Life Process Center on the grounds of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist in Lowell. The cost is $100 for all three weekends.
Advent HSFF/WHAM Retreat & Lenten HSFF/WHAM Retreats for 2012/2013 will be posted when the plans are finalized.
We encourage HIGH SCHOOL TEENS who have been confirmed in the Catholic Church and have a solid relationship with God to consider sharing this with the middle school youth. Peer ministry is not easy. It requires discipline, dedication, excellence and passion. Training is provided and we will have regular meetings and ongoing formation. By the end of the training process peer ministers will plan, organize, and execute a session for the Urgency Lenten Retreat. Many former peer ministers have shared how their faith matures during their time in peer ministry. Their service is a living example of the servant heart of Christ.
See the Faith Formation Calendar for Peer Ministry meeting times. Email Doug Wolford or call Doug at 644-3684 for more information.
Another opportunity for 10th -12th graders to serve is on the IMPACT team. At its core, IMPACT is about "apostles making apostles". Teens primarily will help serve at WHAM. Teens involved in IMPACT can expect to grow spiritually, improve their people skills, gain a sense of ownership of youth group, receive leadership formation, as well as have an opportunity to discover and use their gifts and talents. Meetings are held at Kateri Lodge after WHAM from 8:00PM - 9:00PM.
These one day events are designed to give the teens an opportunity to serve those who are less fortunate. We offer different things like serving at God's Kitchen North and at "Jesus on the Streets" ministry.
See the Faith Formation Calendar for event dates and times.
Don't miss this inspiring weekend of faith! Shine Youth Conferences are saturated with spirit-filled praise and worship, anointed Liturgy, nationally acclaimed speakers, and opportunities to draw closer to Christ particularly in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, Adoration, and opportunities of service to neighbor. Register early to receive a substantial discount in the registration fee. Registration forms are available on the parish website. Ride share information will be available later.
The conference vision is to invite youth into a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit through a call to embrace the heart and mission of the Church. The conference will include evangelical preaching, inspired witnessing, and anointed worship - all aimed at awakening the gift of faith in Jesus Christ. At the heart of the conference weekend are the sacraments, through which youth can experience the Father's loving mercy, forgiveness, and healing compassion. This experience will enable them to respond to the mission of rebuilding the Church and carrying Christ's love to the world. The conference will also enable the teens to socialize with other teens from around the world who are also on the same journey. It is a can't miss weekend.
